Starter Ring Gear

Again, starter issues...I have a 2002 Bulldog, and the issue now is frequent starter grinding...I had starter reshimmed to specs, between .070 and .125"...And now its grinding more than before.... Mechanic says it just may have worn the ring gear too much..he just shimmed it 100 miles ago and said it was worn a bit, but not bad.....Can the issue be the jackshaft drive too? Or just worn gears? Where can I get replacements if needed? Will Harley ring gears fit? Just dumped a ton of $ into this beast, dont really want to spend another dime.....Any tips?

Try a solid Jack shaft worked for me, you might find one on ebay. My two cents

The jack shaft would cause the grinding?

Put in a new jackshaft, and starter, gears in starter were worn too....Went with a 1.7kw starter, so far so good !!
