I have a 2005 Ridge Back, I hit the start button and it just clicks once. I replace the battery and put it on the charger/Genusis Battery maintainer. It shows the battery is at 100% and same thing....it just clicks once. Any Idea's, Im thinking maybe Starter???

Are you sure the starter is trying to engage by this click description and not your compression releases clicking?

Yes, could be starter; could also be more specifically your starter solenoid. I'd start with taking the cover off your solenoid, pulling the plunger, inspecting cleaning it up and reinstalling if it isn't too badly worn. Check for change of condition.

You could pull the starter and have it tested but knowing me, I'd probably just jumper across the terminals to test it to eliminate the motor versus solenoid plunger.

The fact that your getting a reaction (click) when hitting the start button should eliminate that as the source of the problem.

Sounds all too familiar! 2010 Bagger with the click-click. Trailer-ed the bike home and charged it for 2 days. Click-click. Called the shop and had it picked up. The manifold housing on my starter was cracked all around the circumference. New starter $450.00 from Big Dog Performance. Last Friday ordered the product and was told they would call on Monday to inform me of the shipping expense since they had 1 in stock. No call yesterday and called them today. They don't have the product in-stock and getting 1 tomorrow. We'll see if they call!@@!#!

Turns out it was my ground wire to the Primary. It was about a 1/8 turn loose. But it fixed it. Thanks for the help, I guess I'll have a extra battery on hand. LOL
