Starter Problems

So the starter came in two days after I ordered it. The bike is now put back together except for the primary cover. I am waiting on the O ring and new drain plug I orderd from Baker. I hope it comes in tomorow. I will keep you guys updated, I think I see the light at the end of the tunnel.

I tried to wait for the new O ring but lost my patience. I cleaned and reused the old one, put the primary cover back one poured 32oz primary fluid in there and torque wrenched her in. The bike started right up I took around my development for a few minutes. So far so good. It just started raining so i have to postpone any further test rides. Hey I want to thank you guys for all the advice and encouragement. It feels good to know that I can do the non catastrophic type fixes on the bike. I will install the new Oring and drain plug when I do the fast approaching 10000 mile service in my garage.

Do you know the make and part number for the starter sold on ebay, I'am looking for a replacement for may 07 k9.

@mask sorry tio hear your story…. but i was just where you were 3 weeks ago! and i would like to say good job and trying to fix the shit your self. man i jumped into a fucking nightmare with mine, alot of time on this post and a lot of great info and just awesome big dog riders i was up and running in no time for little repairs and fixes. It will get better when you get all your ticks out. CHIVe on!
