My starter just went bellyup. It sounded noisey so I pulled it out and
found the gear missing a tooth.
Is there a harley equivalent that I can get or do I need to order from big dog?

I have an 06 K-9

Thanks,
Henry

Yeah Henry, what he said, if you can pull the shaft and gear out of the starter, any automotive starter shop can match it. I got one from a place for $10, when the gear broke off completely.

I rebuilt mine from a spare bought from eBay. Understand the ones on eBay are re-bult units. And they are not done well.
Kaptain and I took both of mine apart and re-build one real good one that is way better. Increase the size of the two outer o-rings. The one on the motor doesn't even make 50% contact with the case. We sealed mine up so nothing could get in includiing the drain BDM added to them a few years ago.
