2008 Ridgeback : Had my starter rebuilt at the Spyke factory and installed it myself on Jan. 30, 2012. Well now 4 months later I have an oil leak ( about the size of a 50 cent piece when I stop on the ground) coming down the rear of the primary and it looked like from the starter. Took starter off and realized the Oring looked too thin. It wasn't in bad shape but it just didn't look right. Went to Napa Auto and found a slightly thicker Oring and installed starter. Went riding about 50 miles and no leak! Just thought if someone has this same problem to maybe try this route first. :D

What was the NAPA part number please. It'll help the members if they have this issue...Thanks :2thumbs:

I took my starter with me to Napa and the guy just gave me the oring as it was only .65 cents and he didnt want to mess with writing it up. Give me a few days as I know the bin he got it out of and I will go by there and get the part number and post it.
I have been another 200 miles and no leak so it definitely was the problem.
