Starter issue?

Not sure what the issue is. I go to start my bike and I get that pinging starter sound and nothing else. This has happened to me several times. I had a tore up starter wire(going to neg side of battery) I replaced it and thought it was fixed. Several days later went for a drive, stopped came back out "PING...PING! Wiggled the wire from my reset switch to + battery post and it took off. New switch and wire installed today. Went down to the Sturgis on the river rally and came back out PING...PING. Walked to find a phone as I forgot my cell at home, got back to the bike hit the start and she fired right up. Starter? What do you guys think? O and by the way asking for a tool from these guys standing by their bikes at the rally was like asking if you could sit on their bike! What a bunch of JERKS! Wish I could have spotted another Dog down there!

Maybe your starter is due for a rebuild. Try cleaning the contacts at the solenoid. If you need to have it rebuild send it to Curtis at Wild Steed Worx & Services, When the road is your trail. They can make it new and install a slam button for you. That Slam button is a life saver and certainly eliminates that click click sound. :2thumbs:
