Starter clicking

When hit start button, it just clicks, unless I tap on side of starter with a screwdriver it will then crank over. The click is the compression releases so Is that a Bad Stater? Or Solenoid? Recommendations to track this down

Mine did that and I found the wire to the starter solenoid was loose. I cleaned it and tightened the connection and it been fine since. You could have a dirty starter solenoid contact causing it too. Pull the chrome cover off, the contacts come out and clean them. I'm thinking you would hear that click too if the contacts were dirty. When my bike acted up, I heard only the compression releases clicking and no click from the starter area. Hope this helps.

Did ya try and jump the bike from another battery to see if its the battery? If you jump it from a car battery, DO NOT have the car running that will eliminate the possibility of a bad battery.

Start simple first and just pull ur green wire to your starter and use a jumper wire from a well tested power source and see what she does. A buddy of mine had the same issue and of coarse the ticking is the compression releases. When jumping the starter manually with a good power source it started.. took the starter off and cleaned up everything with a wire brush till all that copper shined like New, threw her back on and it' been trouble free since as far as I know. That was about 5 or 6 months ago. Good luck brother

I'm kinda in agreement with Kobi. Disconect the positive battery cable, and remove the solenoid end plate, Carefully pull the plunger, (big round disc) out and clean the surface that hits those 2 contacts in side the housing. Clean the 2 copper contacts in the housing, and put it all back together. See if that helps. If you take it apart without disconnecting the battery, be very careful that you don't short things out while removing and replacing the plunger. ( found out the hard way)
