Start WirePlus installation

Question to you guys that have install this on your own. I started doing the installation yesterday and after doing about 10 of the wires and moving them around one of the wires came out off the pin. So now I'm pulling all of them and soldering them in after clirping them. Has anyone else have a issue with the pins holding the wires in??

Also I did do something that Jake said not to do. I cut more than one wire at a time. But when getting the unit from Jake you get two sets of directions. His and WirePlus directions. Jake's directions clearly state CUT ONE WIRE AT A TIME. But the other directions state to cut all the Black wires first and put them together. While I statred just doing the Jake directions but sometime getting to cut the right wire the black ones were in the way so I just cut them all Hopefully I didn't fuck anything up, but I'm taking my time and doing a little a day and should be done by Wednesday afternoon I hope.

In general, if you can, you should "tin" (solder) all crimped or wire nutted electrical connections. Over time vibrations can weaken connections like they do the tightness of your fastners (bolts). Somebody with the Wire Plus can answer your other specific questions.

All the black wires I believe are grounds so shouldn't be a problem. Soldier the crimps also it will make a better connection that won't corrode after getting wet or vibrate loose.

I havent had any issues yet by crimping the pins and I understand your issue with two sets of instructions, both very diferent I might add. Pm other members who installed there own if you cant get satisfactory answers. Good Luck
