Start Button or Start Sequence Problem

Hi Folks,

New on here, I'm from Calgary, Canada. and own a 2005 Big Dog Mastiff that I purchased around 3 months ago. I've owned several other bikes, Yamaha, Honda etc. that were easy to have repaired here in Calgary, the Big Dog HOWEVER.... they argue with me that BD is out of business, no help from BD, can't buy parts!! EVEN AFTER I tell them I've ordered and received stuff from BD.

My problem is the “start switch” or something in the sequence, I ordered and installed a new right controller circuit board, still nothing from the start switch, everything else works, signal, run (at least gives me the green light) and new starter relay, it was modified to the new system before I purchased it, I know there was a recall on this due to vibration.

has anyone had problems with the start switch, or start relay that they managed to fix or find the issue? :bang:

as far as the factory, i can answer that. as of april, 2011, BDM closed it's doors. you can still order parts from Big Dog Motorcycle Performance Parts (new company/same name)
or you can try places like Stroker's Dallas (talk to Amy) or member here "bigdogpartsking", he is "Shovelheadkicker" on ebay and can get a lot of the parts needed. good luck.

starter relay

yep i had a similar problem nobody could fix it .said it was in my switchs when i pulled the starter to replace it i replaced the jam switch with the old end cap i noticed the little copper wire coming in from the green wire connection had a hair line crack in it that i think it can be soldered and will solve the problem, not saying that is your problem but it worth checking. Now i have a backup starter.
