Stalling ????

My 04 Pitbull runs great but every now and then it will stall , usually stoped at a light, the power doesnt go out ,just stalls !

I removed the white piece on the back of the gas cap turned up the idol a little , cleaned out the screen inside the gas tank and changed plugs and also search threads for an answer.

As I said it will start again but turns over a while before it does , if anything it is emabarrassing,lol?

It has happened on a full tank and also with lil gas in it.

any ideas would be appreciated?

have you noticed the tach ring flashing at you when you are letting it idle? idle could be set a little too low. 1k for proper idle.

Try the accelerator pump a slight turn. Go to the S&S carb site for tuning.

chrome ring I since replaced the stck speedo in the pic with a Dakot digital still just a chrome ring

Are you talking about the tachometer?

If so, the 04 Pits and Ridgebacks came w/o. If we wanted to install a tach then that would be a seperate mount to the inside of the handlebars. It was never together as speedo/tach assembly. So he would be correct in saying that there is no tach.:up:

Does it always happen near the same time after running?

Is there a petcock valve screen as well?

NO MOST OF THE TIME ITS FINE ,JUST A FEW TIMES ITS STALLED BUT LIKE i SAID ITS EMBBARRISING , IM GOING TO ADJUST THE CARB AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS AND YES THERE IS A PETCOCK SCREEN .I ALREADY CLEANED IT.

04 Rigid has a tach. Ridgebacks have the same speedo/tach ring on the newer dogs.

Must just be the Pit due to the speedo mounted in the tank? I thought they came stock on all 04's but I guess I was wrong, Pit must be the only exception
