Stainless Creations Pipes

I have two sets of SC pipes and both of them have given me many headaches over the years. Not fitting properly but mainly broken brackets. I don't think the metal can handle the abuse of many miles on the roads. Must be the metal is too soft or brittle, one of the two.

But I pulled out my Wrath pipe getting ready to put it back on the bike cause my bike doesn't like the Martin Bros pipe I have on it. Just doesn't run good with it on, it's the Zig Zag pipe.

I pulled off the exhaust wrap that I put on it a couple years ago before I did my ride from Dayton back to Washington State and found the pipe under the wrap all corroded. After several attempts using rubbing compound and other polishes I found I had to break out the wheeler wheel and sand paper. I started with 320 grit pads but still had problems getting trough the corrosion so took my wire wheel to it and that worked but my battery in my drill doesn't last long anymore so it's a slow process!

Here is what I have so far and I'm thinking I like the Exile look so don't know if I will polish them up further. I may run them like this with this rough look and then later polish them up further but thought I would let you see what I have so far and see if you all like the look or not. Doesn't really matter I guess as I can never find them time to keep them clean with all the weather I end up riding in.

Here they are:

First the broken bracket (for the third time)!!

Here is what it looked like new:

Pic of it wrapped with the exhaust heat sheild stuff:

I'll update later when I have the final finish on them that I will go with.

I would think about getting them ceramic coated on the outside, you could go with black or silver. I love the coating on my R&B pipe because it needs nothing no polishing, heat shields or pipe wrap. It's a shame to do that with stainless but its hassle free and if you need to weld on them or do any future repairs you could always touch them up with a spray can of ceramic paint that you could pick up at auto shop.

Yeah, that's a thought. My current MB ZigZag pipes is internally coated. I think I will keep them plain for now just for easier cleanup. These pipes were supposed to be internally ceramic coated but they forgot to do it!!

Thanks
