Josh, I turned my forward and it's running pretty good! I still need to fine tune.
The guy's that where talking about the turbulation from the back stack where right, this doesn't allow air flow. I haven't tried it without the filter screen! But it looks great!

I wanted that intake really bad untill I realized their was only a screen and no filter. NO FILTER.

Even on my jetboat which I run a big K&N filter, it needs cleaned every few weekends, and it is on a lake all day. Just think what is going thru the motor...

No filter = no way.

good luck to you..

Hey Rott, thanks for the info... I was thinking about maybe trying to block off the one side that is causing the turbulence somewhere down by the bottom near the screen. Maybe that will stop the tub problem so we can leave it straight up... but ill have to wait till spring lol... the bike is in peices for the winter LOL

If more air helps, that means your fat when it's breaking up. I'd dyno tune it....wait I'd scrap that intake and put on an extended S&S and protect my engine and get max power all at once.:D

Josh, call them and order it, you might be able to get the to block it off when they make it! I know mine had to be made. It took like 6 weeks to get.
The screen filter is good enough, if your not sand-dragging!

RIDE IT HARD!!!
Woodbutcher nailed it. I had the same problem with a set-up I had on mine. The faster you go, the more the air rushing past tries to pull the air back out of the carb. Not sure how you can fix it with yours but all I needed to do was angle mine more forward and the problem went away.

I am new here guys and I found this post because I am having the same problem. I know it is a two year old post, but am hoping someone can shed some light before I scrap this intake.

How did this ever get resolved. Was the new screen all that was needed or did you have to point the air intake more forward as well?

I had to go back to the teardrop so I could ride it, but don't like the look of that.

I pulled the bowl vent and opened the air bleed up to around .060 and problem solved. I did run it without a screen for a whole season with no ill effects.

Hey guys I've had trouble with my stainless creations "apocaclypse" intake. Basically after install I was hitting a wall around 4k rpms, it was so bad it was like hitting the rev limiter. I went from 078 up to 082 on the main jet with no improvement. On the advice of another lister I removed the screen from the intake, it's a very tight mesh with a heavy pleat in it. Dropped the main back to 080 and now it's running great. So, what do you guys think of running with no filter? I put about 4k miles on the bike every year, so I ride allot. I'm afraid of trying to make a less restrictive screen in case it gets sucked into the motor. Any ideas?

HOW DOES IT DO IN THE RAIN???

Moe, since the breaking up may be during the overlap. When both the int. and main jets are supplying fuel. Try a larger air bleed jet. If you have an older carb w/o adj.air bleed. Install one on the outside.Makes it easier to change. I think this is kind of a band-aid fix.The screen is causing a restriction. To me you proved that by removing it. But if it works and you like the intake..so be it

I opened the top end after running without a screen for a year, and the cylinders were not bad at all. As for running in the rain, I ride all year round, rain or shine, and got into some pretty serious rain with it, and no problem. I did drill a hole in the bottom so it can drain. The biggest PIA was running with no front fender.
