what is the problem if the starter wont engage and you have to use a slam button, i have just purchased a new starter parts including coil assy and today the starter wont engage , i had to push start it , it wasnt to bad , but i wanted to why it wont engage?

Start button on handlebar or loose connector or loose wire or dirty solenoid or broken solenoid. Come first to my mind.
Plenty of threads around, please use search and you will find good info. I think moespeed had nice "how to" few years back.
