Spinning Fork Tube

I have a pro one front end. One of the fork tubes is free spinning inside the fork leg when fully assembled. Has anyone ever heard of this happening? If so should I just break them down and look for the symmetry in them. Other than tightening down the caps I’m unsure what to do. :bang:

The fork tubes will spin inside the legs. Did you re-build the forks? Not sure what your doing here. Put the tubes in the trees, put the caps on the tubes, tighten pinch bolts, tighten caps, install front wheel and axle.

 Not good and never heard of that either. I would start by tightening down the Pinch screws on the lower tree and caps on top. You may want to check your fall away to make sure you are still on.

Boo, your thinking that he is saying that the tubes a spinning when installed in the trees? I thought he ment when forks are out of the trees during a re-build.

Sorry I wasnt more specific. The tube is instaled on the tree already. The front end is completely put together. I have tightened down the top screw and the pinch bolt.

Mabey one of the two could be worn out or not threaded properly. No joke when I go riding (as weary as that can be) the tube rotates. The reason I notice this, is because my turn signals are mounted to the tube. I refuse to bring it back to the dick that assembled it a while back. I have in the past had to rebuild the front end (seals) and are a bit comfotable with it.
Should I just take them apart look for the symetry in both of them and then reinstall?

 WOW hard to determine why is would do that if the caps and pinch bolts are tight. How about the turn signal mount is that tight. I would mark the tube and on the turn signal mount with red nail polish and find out which on is moving for sure. Do you have to keep tightening the cap on the top tree is is that solid. :loony: :loony:

Pull the pinch bolts out clean out the holes with air / brake clean and re assemble with anti-seize and torque. Basically check and make sure the pinch bolt threads in the tripple tree are not stripped out.

remember pinch bolt torque is not much so be care, maybe take close look for cracks, etc.
