I put a new voltage regulator on and my speedometer still goes crazy not sure why it keeps doing it

Probably need more info.... What is "still goes crazy"? Speedometer could be shot. Is it the original or a replacement? My 06 K9 speedometer would not do the sweep, but rather go all the way around during start up and / or not move at all. Replaced it with the Dakota Digital and problem solved.

I don't see the relationship between the VR and the speedometer except one charges your battery and the other uses power from the battery.
