speedometer

I have a 2005 Mastiff. While riding, my speedometer will all of a sudden act irratic, drop down to zero MPH and then back up to my approximate speed. It will do this very rapidly and then stop. Seems to occur when I'm doing 60 to 75 MPH but have also seen this same thing happen while stopped and reviving the engine. Doesen't happen all of the time...sporadic in nature. Anyone else experience this and/or have any ideas what to do to fix this?

Pull your speed sensor and clean it, might have crud on it. If that's not it, you prolly have a loose wire somewhere. Check your wiring...

There may be an intermittent harness connection in the speedo head unit that feeds power, ground and signal. Disassemble the speedo head and investigate. There are threads here on the process.

It also may be an indication of a poor battery or regulator. Charging circuit/regulator? Search for threads on this subject.

If all else fails many have gone with The Dakota Digital with good results.
Do a search to cover all known issues and if you are still having problems I have the Dakota's in stock and available on The Group Buy Page at this link.
