Don't want to beat the speedometer thing to death but have a specific question that I can't find an answer for. Got a 2007 Chopper with the original speedometer. Always keep the battery well charged. The speedometer works -but occasionally the voltage thing happens and it goes dead. If I restart the bike - it works. I know this is a common gremlin. My question is - if I replace the speedometer with a Dakota plug in play - does this solve the problem or will this still be an issue? Will there be times when the Dakota goes dead and I need to restart the bike? Or is the Dakota unaffected by the voltage issue that effects the BDM Speedometer?
