Speedometer pin

Hi brothers and sister. My speedometer is acting up. I washed the bike yesterday and there was moisture inside the speedometer. Today when I turn the key the needle goes to 50 and stays there then goes below zero and back to 50 , my neutral light stays on when I put it in great and when I press the left blinker it goes on and off with the neutral light. What good that be?

I've had similar issues, all due to moisture getting in the speedo. Can do all sorts of weird things.
Curtis at Wild Steed Worx offers a complete speedo "overhaul" where you send him your analog OEM analog speedo and then he completely rips it down and does all this:

Break Down Speedometer
Clean all internal components thoroughly
Trim excess tips off soldered areas that promote corrosion
Apply new layer of urethane sealant to electronic board
Install watertight, metal strain relief for wiring
Seal front lens to prevent leaks
Install full O-ring seal under bezel to help keep unit sealed
Install new odometer trip reset button, if needed
Purge speedometer with nitrogen before final assembly to prevent the dreaded fogging

What awg said... First time I washed my dog I experienced very similar issues. I ended up using a hair dryer on a low setting to help speed up the drying process. Now I always cover my speedo & hand controls with Ziploc bags held in place with rubber bands anytime I wash the bike.
