Speedometer noise 2007 Big Dog K9

Hi. I have another question for you Big Dog Scientists. I own a 2007 Big Dog K9. I keep hearing a chattering noise from the front end when I am riding. The dealer said he didn't hear anything when he rode it. However, I know something is making this noise, and I am pretty sure it is the speedometer. I recall reading that some people on this board also mentioned a chattering or clicking sound coming from their speedometers. I would like to disconnect the speedometer in order to determine for certain whether or not the speedometer is making the noise. Is this a difficult thing to do? I am mechanically inclined, but should I leave this to the mechanics? Also, if the speedometer is the problem, is it something I can fix, or should I let the mechanics deal with it. I thought that the speedometer was fully electronic with no moving parts--or does it contain moving parts that can make noise if there is a problem with it? Does the cable connected to the speedometer contain only wiring, or does it contain a spinning cable like the "older" speedometers? Thanks so much for your help guys, as I'm really getting to dislike the stealers lately!!! Peace--Brock :)

How are you ian? Thanks for answering me. I hear this noise all the time, with or without using the front break. A nice local bike mechanic told me that the noise was definitely coming from the speedometer. Will the new bigger speedometer mount help with this? Is this something I can fix, or do I need a new speedometer? Thanks so much for your help. Ride safely--Brock.

I get that damn buzzing noise when using the front brake. What the hell is it? Any fix for it?
nothing you can do about it. it is also from the back, just not as noticeable. it is caused by the cross-drilling to keep the discs cool.

no. this is an electrical buzzing noise from the speedo area. only when using the front brake.

Take it in and have them update your EHC and change your speedo out to the new style mount. I haven't had a problem since they did mine and it's an 06
