Speedometer faces

I had Joe do another cover for my speedometer with Glenda on it.

He does some outstanding work and can do about anything you want. He has a huge selection of prints already too. These he can fit to any bike not just our Big Dogs.

As for our speedo's, this is not for the meek or those of you worried about your warranties. You have to break into your speedo unit to install the new face.

Several here have done it including me and I think there is already even some photo's on here showing how it's done but you will have to find them.

Anyway, here is a kool way to customize your bike and have something others don't have like a kool topless pic of your wife/girlfriend with a bikini hanging off the throttle!!!

i was thinking of doing my speedo cover. I see the prices for the covers are $35. Do you guys know how much the new speedo assembly costs? I still have the stock 2005 speedo that hasn't worked in a long time.

A lot of the early 05 models had some problems that were related to one of the three wires vibrating loose. If you break it open you may find one of these wires broken loose. Solder it back on and it should be good to go.
You should also have the new speedo mount that is wider and absorbs vibration more. There is a SB out on it. Get your dealer to get you a new one.

when i had the speedo connected the gauge would work for a little while but then it would start to float around a tell the wrong speed. If i turned bike off and turned it back on the gauge would reset and work for a while then same problem. would this mean a wire broken off or unit no good?

I would think that a wire broken loose would terminate functions. Best to get Night Train to way in on this. But there is also the problem with power up, a weak battery will cause it harm. Reason for the new EHC's being flashed to program the speedo to power up a second time after the bike is started when full electrical load is available.
There is a thread on here though of one of our members that opened up his speedo and found the wire broken and re-soldered it and it worked great.

You may have to clean your speed pickup. I am pretty sure that is in the How to on servicing your bike

i emailed them and mentioned that they had supplied the nipple to other members and all i got back from them was a solicitation to buy one of their other models along with the installation instructions previously posted here on the site.
