When you guys changed out your speedometer where did you make you new connections at getting ready to wire mine up just thought I would get som ideas

under the tank, there a connector where the Annunciator cable plugs into the backbone (about middle of tank) - I recommend you leave the backbone connection in tact and cut the annunciator cable between the connector for the backbone and the existing speedometer. Not sure how long the wires are on direct wire unit you purchased, but no matter what I wouldn't cut the connector off the backbone and you can hide any wire connections under the tank. This way you can leave the tach ring connections still running through the existing cable.

Dakota digital hly 5000 x buddy had never used now I’m trying to figure out connections

Speedo all connect all lights turning signals working get carb on tomorrow and pipes fire up the beast see if everything else works

On Dakota digital not the plug and play do you have to learn the system before the tach and stuff works I didn’t want to take bike out all salt outside but tach didn’t kick in but everything else worked turning signals hazards neutral switch high low beam

Ok so I turned the page on the instruction sheet that men don’t look at I have to learn it since it’s not the plug a play model
