My speedo lense is shot! The elements got to it bad. Can't see nothing in it.

Question -

Is there a way to replace just the lense or do I need to get a whole new speedo. I have the old white face and was told $120 would get me a new one.

I don't mind shelling out the cash for a new one but if I can just replace the lense I'll go that route.

I would highly recommend the Dakota also. But you could try some headlight lens polish. I did this on my 98 Tahoe and they turned out good as new.

The Dakota has shit in it that I don't need. And probably wouldn't work. That's why I haven't gone that route.

Try this Novus Acrylic Polish. I use it and it works wonders. Friend of mine has a Caravan. Headlights were so clouded you couldn't see the bulbs. Used this shit and they were like new.
Get the small kit. It will go a long way.

Oscar, I have one that I got from Shovelheadkicker for 120.00. I also have the chrome house that I have been trying to set as a set for $150 shipped. If you want just the speedo I will let it go for 100. shipped. It will be a while or after the 17th cause I am in sturgis until then.

From reading and my own personal problems with my speedo, although the Dakota digital or others seems like a job, the OEM speedo is in my perspective the cheapest part of the bike. The technology isnt that great and tons of posts with problems with flashing and sustained accuracy, clouding and other cosmetic issues, it will be the first upgrade since my pipes that I would consider, definitely if my current speedo became a mess. If you search I think there is install instructions for the DIYer, otherwise my suggestion is count the seconds between mile markers or ride with some Harley owners to set the pace.

It wouldn't surprise me if my stock 07 Speedo is a different size (black face); but if you wanna try to take em apart, you can have it. It worked alright but I noticed the black plastic case (that goes inside the bucket) is cracked. PM me your address if ya want it....:up:
