I was out this weekend and decided to open the dog up a little bit. (2004 chopper) At about 95mph, the speedo started to run backwards. It stopped at about 45mph. Now, if I am running 70mph, it reads about 45mph, you guys have any ideas? I am new to the BD (had mine about 2 months) Thanks guys in advance.

Sounds freaky if it is that consistent. You may want to clean off the speedo sensor at the Tranny. Gas has some pics of it in one of his How-Tos.

Okay here's my 2 cents!

Sensors of this sort for speedos that run off the trans gear or a reluctor are sensitive to both gap distance to the reluctor and speed or frequency at which the reluctor teeth pass by. As the speed/frequency increases the signal pulses get closer together and if the sensor is getting tired or dirty at the tip it may not be as effective at higer frequencies/speeds. So when you are riding at 90mph and then the speedo starts to read 45mph it's probably due to the sensor pickup missing every other pulse thus half the speed at the gauge. Clean it first then replace it if needed.

Good Luck!

Sounds kind of like the stepper motor in the speedo jumped to a different position. Probably caused by vibration. Are your handlebar bushing any good?
