Had my speedo replaced today, looks exactly the same but this one works! The problem I was having was the speedo/odemeter kept resetting itself, but every so often it would show actual milage.
Last milage it showed was 3,100 miles. Well after getting the new one on it shows only 750 miles...Not gonna complain, just interesting.....

They said my 04 Big Dog doesn't have a speedo problem but thats not what I told the nice Texas trooper that let me out of the $$$$ ticket when I showed him my speedo doesn't give true readings. When I am stopped after riding hard my needle is at -10 or -20 so it gives a false reading saying I am going 80 instead I am really going 90 or 100 MPH :whoop:
Really I cant tell the differance between 80 or 100 I just know it will hurt with a sudden stop:D

Naaah, They ordered it about 2 months ago, I kept my bike for my travels, then just took it in the morning, sat around and had coffee and donuts, had it back an hour later.

Got my speedo done today.

Its a nice setup. Going to come up with a how to remove speedo as well. I pulled the speedo myself due to the shitty Michigan dealer that had my replacement.

But anyway, the new mount and speedo are very nice. Plus I made sure that after the guy at the dealership swapped the speedo gauge. That when I got home I put some di-electric grease in the tach and speedo connections inside the bucket. I also put the di-electric grease inside the connections on the back bone and re-shrunk wrapped the wires. Further, I polished the gauge pod that I usually can't with it installed or not as well when installed.

I've been thinking -

Beeing that I have an 04' Pitbull, Would it be possible to install one of the speedo with the intergrated tach assy (like yours Gas) on my bike? Has anyone ever done this? Or do I go with the individual setup of the tach mounted above the speedo?

Has this question been asked? If so where is the thread?

An electric signal, not sure if it would come from the ehc or ignition on all bikes. I'm pretty sure its from the ignition.

I would make your own thread on it so it don't get barried in here. Plus you might get more help.

Yeah - I'll do it now. It sucks I didn't get time to call Vickie today. I'll have to do it next week. Don't know if she'll be there seeing that it'll be a long weekend with Labor day on Monday.
