Ok... I have debated this for quite sometime with Natron and the wife last summer.

Well the other day while going to monday's bike night we are cruising up the highway. Here's the ruff figures off the speedo's

BDM 70-75
AIH 70-75
2 Honda's 80-85

BDM 42-48
AIG same
2 honda's 45-52

I know for a fact that the sportbike versions of rice run at a exponential error. The faster you go the more its "off".

Natron SWEARS we are wrong. But the rest of us don't remember passing too many cars so we think the 2 american choppers are correct and calibrated more true. Further I had a similar problem last year with my BDM vs Natron's Honda and Uma's HD.

Have any of you noticed this?

It seems like these more mass produced bikes have a built in error to the speedo.

Since BDM replaced my speedometer I have ran past a few of those speedometer signs that shows how fast your going and my K9 has always been right on the money. The other two speedometers bounced around so bad you couldn't tell.

I'm with Mick, I ride by one of those signs every time since there is one in my 'hood. Right on each time...

You know they don't put a gas gauge ... why did they bother to put a speedo ? Just fly like the wind .... until the guy on a motorcycle gives you a ticket ... haven't gotten one yet .. on the bike that's ... :D :hi:
Actually I tested my wife's car with my GPS and it's right on ... I would test my dog but I really don't care ...

And I think GPS is the right idea... I have a hand held... will have to use it next time I'm out.

Gas, get us a low and high reading. Interested to hear how accurate they are. I averaged about 90-95 mph coming across country in most open areas (Texas to Kalifornia) so wondering how fast I was really going.

Thanks,
Ray

I hope mine isn't too far - I can't afford to get caught speeding again! speed cameras everywhere here

I'll let you guys know... I'll see if I can rig it to my arm but if not, I'll have to do top speed checks. It will be more off on the highway so that is where I'm aiming... then if it is off I'll go for lower speeds.
