Speed bumps

How do you all deal with neighborhood speed bumps on a K-9???

Depends what kind of mood I'm in...
and whether the OL is on the back... and how she's been acting lately...

Usually I slow way down so I don't bottom out... :down:

I go around them if possible if I can't go around them.... real slow. Went to a friends house couldn't go around it went slow and almost got hung up on it.

Pretty much slow down and just roll over them, though occasionally I feel like I should take a run at them and get my Bubba Blackwell skills up to par!

Some of the speedbumps around here you need a 4-wheel drive to get over.

4 to 4.5 inches is what I have read somewhere!!

something i've found that helps sometimes, remember if you stand up and take your weight off the bike, you can feather the clutch and have an extra
1/2 inch of clearance, depending on your weight. 4-4 1/2 inchs is with nobody on the bike.

Jack up the airride! I've bottomed out on a few going really slow...that's interesting let me tell ya! I never wanna see the bottom of my frame...I'd probably just get really, really pissed.

I was front row and watched that guy nearly die at the Del Mar Fairgrounds in San Diego back in 2001. He tried to jump 22 cars (GEO Metros). You knew he was going to be short once he hit the takeoff ramp. Man... He hit the landing ramp with the middle of his bike's frame! OUCH!

Ruined an awesome 4th of July celebration for thousands of people. Big buzz kill. Kids, women and grown men crying. Bubba nearly died. Must have been in intensive care for a month. The whole crowd just walked out in silence as the heli took him away.

I have 7 of them in my neighborhood, use to really bug me alot but I got use to them. Good news is they are ramped pretty good.

Take them at full speed! The shock up in front will buck up the rear and you'll be fine if you can hold on! Call it the city rodeo! :lol:

You can ask the city to re do the bumps with a bit of a ramp and while they may only do part of it, it will help.
