Holly Sh*t Batman, stopped at my local bike shop to pick up some transmission fluid for my yearly upkeep and the shop wanted $20.99 for a quart of this stuff.
Years ago I bought several quarts of the then Baker recommended Redline Shockproof but don't remember paying much for it and am out of it now.

So I didn't pick it up but still need to get some or look for some Redline that I haven't been able to find since moving up here.

Just thought this price was crazy rediculous and then this states 10% tax!!!:eek:

Go with the Red Line. Its $14.95 a qt here.
Thanks, that's all I've used before and I only change it once a year but the $25 (with tax) bucks shocked me at the time for 1 qt of oil!!! :loony:

Appreciate it Dave but I'll get some local here. Just wanted to check out the new Spectro oil that is now recommended by Baker and was just surprised at the price.

Thanks

Amsoil for me. Love it. Lucky we have an Amsoil distribution center here in town. Signed up for a preferred membership. Preferred gets you dealer prices but you don't have to be a dealer. I think I pay around 8.50 a quart.

What ever you go with, oil is cheap insurance when you consider what it would cost to fix it if it broke. So I never skimp with oil.

That's true Mike, just got a case of gallons in the other day of motor oil. But been running the recommended Redline since it's first oil change and it's worked good for almost 70,000 miles but was looking at the new Baker recommended oil now Spectro.

I pay more than that for Amsoil with the shipping. That's half the reason I switched to Spectro, which is just as good anyway.

I've been wanting to change mine but didn't know exactly what to use..........been reading the older posts...............which is confusing. Some like, some dislike. I just want something to help the neutral gear issue. Scared to try synthetic in a tranny. Im too old school...............doesnt make sense.

Guys correct me if I am wrong but Baker recommended the Spectro Heavy Duty Platinum GL-5 6 speed transmission oil. I bought the one Ray has posted above in his original post. Anyone know the difference between the two or am I splitting hairs?

Different label maybe? There can not be that much difference I would think. I just put the Platinum 6 speed fluid in mine...but have not taken it out for a ride yet.
