What plugs are you using?
I have been fighting a flat spot on part throttle since putting on my XXX. Ended up with .295 Int, 78 main and 50 bleed but the real fix was a switch to Autolite 4160 plugs. These were suggested by a local tuner and Wham fixed it right up. ?????

Yes, we do to that on our race cars. I dont know how much of a factor that really is on stock compression and ignition.

Thumper, where is your accelerator pump set at. At what rpm is your flat spot experienced at? It may be that you have to large of a main jet. I use a 29.5 and a 72 on my xXx. A large main jet will give you the same symptoms at about 2000 rpm.

1.75 turns out on the pump, 1500-2000 is the spot. Are we in the main circuit at the RPM?

Yep. If you have some jets laying around (I keep a whole bag of them) then try dropping it to a 74 and see how it runs. I'll bet you'll see some improvement. Won't hurt to try and it's easy to change.

Have you ever tried the Silver plugs (from the Nology site)?

This is what the nology website says about the Iridium plugs.

Iridium is a super dense material and therefore extremely resistant to wear. That's it!
It is a terrible thermal conductor and a bad electrical conductor, so why would anyone use it to make a spark plug center electrode? Since car manufacturers have to guaranty that their engines stay in-tune for up to 100,000 miles, they can only achieve this with ultra dense Iridium or Platinum.

Just marketing! Go to Champion, NGK, Autolite and all the others and they stoke themselves also! A spark plug is a spark plug, use whatever floats your bubble.
