Spare gas

I went digging through my war chest of old photo's as it reminded me.....it was a red one, not sure I have it anymore or threw it out. I had brought one on my first trip down to Big Bend area, since it was my first time going, I wasn't sure about the gas situation. Needless to say I never had to use it.

I've been through a lot of this country on the bike and yea you need to stop sometimes at 50-60 miles to fill up to make it the next one but if you plan right you really never need it.

You can see sticking out the side pocket. April 2015. That was the trip I got a broken razorblade stuck in the rear tire not more than 10-15 miles from home. I hit the freeway to just get my ass home for the last 30-40 miles and paid the price...

Checking the tire on the side of the road, and I said what the hell is this and sure enough I started pulling on it and there it was. That will give you a flat all day everyday.

Ain't it amazing the stuff that will go through a tire? when I had dump trucks they always got flat tires on the rear tandem axle. The tires on the front tandem would stand stuff like, bolts and nails up the the junk would penetrate the tires on the rear axle. I don't miss those days at all.
