Heard a sudden grinding noise while warming up the mastiff for a ride.. Best part while taking the primary off I managed to break my final drive belt! It gave before the fukn red loctite on clutch hub nut. My stator had the rotor center broken out. A couple magnets were off the rotor and clinging to the stator windings.

But it all went pretty smooth to R&R it.
Which BTW I was able to get it off without touching the clutch . Just removed chain tensioner. Primary chain was new last year, about 1k miles or less on it. And still gave me just enough length to get it off the stator area.

Was this your bike with the 4” Karata open primary?
Yes Rick, figured it's a blessing in disguise. Now that I have everything disassembled it makes it far easier to polish.. ;) Also putting a fresh clutch pack in when I reassemble. Trying something with the clutch basket you sent me, I have hard surfaced the grooves and ground down for the clutch plates to fit. Next season I will run it on the bike for a while to see if it works.
