Well after the major surgery required by myself to remove my front light which it turned out was mainly held together with silicone, i was then confronted with the inevitable task of putting it all back together once i had the new LED bulb fitted and after a couple of hours of drinking beer and whiskey last night and after much scratching of the head, i was none the wiser. The second ring was split, there was no way that was going back in and so to bed i went defeated. Today i came home from work, looked at it again and realised the only realistic way i am going to fix this (remembering i am thousands of miles away from the USA) is with some improvisation. Firstly i needed something to fit on the lip inside the bucket where the unit sits, in my garage i found some sticky backed rubberised draught excluder and on it went perfectly, i then put the unit in the bucket and needed something that would hold it in place once the top ring was screwed on. I looked around and there it was, staring me right in the face, a roll of satellite cable. I cut it to size, put it around the unit, screwed the top ring on, put the set screw in and job done. Now although i may now have a ring of black between the front ring and the lense but my ride is mostly black and i kind of like it and if anyone has the balls to tell me it looks sh#t while i am out on a ride, i will shine my new LED bulb in their eyes until the bleed. Now i am sure some of you are going to tell me how this could happen and that could happen, but i don't care. It works for now and got me out of the sh#t, although how long it lasts is another matter and i will deal with that, as and when. On the plus side though i must have the only Big Dog in the world with a headlight like that and i guess that makes mine kind of unique
