Something strange happened.....

Any chance you put the short "damper tube spring" on top of the damper tube instead of running the tube through the spring ?

Sounds like you might be "air locked"...Loosen axle pinch bolts @ bottom of right slider... Remove the caps from the tubes @ the top of the tree. (this must be done with the bike on the ground) Grab front brake and work the front end up and down a few times...If the front end is not working with pinch bolts loose and the caps removed...You've screwed something up internally..Hopefully this will fix you up...let me know
Glad you mentioned this because right before I broke the forks down again I loosened the pincher bolts and the forks did slide down. I kept the pincher bolts out and locked up the fork caps. I pushed the front tire into my garage wall to "loosen" up forks a little. And fucken a! the brake cable STILL DIDN'T reach the caliper. It looked as if that was the problem. If there was a more qualified mechanic around I am sure identifying the true cause would be more apparent and easier to figure out. For me, I am just going to have to do it all over again.

Now it must be something internal. So, I will know tomorrow after I take all that stuff apart again. As mentioned previously....the second time around will be MUCH faster (i hope).

Thanks for all of the feedback and everyone has had sound and accurate advice and input. I appreciate it tremendously. Now its time to get fucking drunk....
