Hey Chacha,
Great post! I'm laughing my ass off....

I look at it this way. If a driver does something so wrong that he almost kills me, I'm going to let him know it. If I don't, then what he did is "no big deal" and he will continue to do the same thing to someone else. The next time he does it, it might be someone I know who ends up getting hit. No different then teaching a child the word no means NO.

My dad’s buddy got into with some asshole in a car the SOB tried to run him off the road then run from him. He has an FXR bored out and 12:1 compression ratio so he wasn’t getting away. The first stop light he dragged his ass out of the car and beat the shit out of him. Cops picked him up a few days later and my dad bailed him out with new heads as collateral, my dad didn’t want to take them but he insisted. My dad figured the guy had helped us with so much on our own bikes that $1700.00 bucks wouldn’t ruin a friendship. He paid up and I think the case was dropped.
It is always some damn soccer mom that pulls out in front of me or some dumb sorority chick. I can’t go beating up girls. I think I'll do like cacha and threaten anal rape from now on.

I know I have come close to hitting other riders because their chain is louder then their pipes. I know my pipes saved my ass all the time. I grab that clutch and give the throttle a few twist and people know I’m there.

Hi Guys,
Been reading on this site and the V-twin forum site about all the bikes getting hit by cars. We had a police officer from Plastow NH while off duty, get cut off on his bike and end up in ICU. Just in the last five days, I've been cut off seven times, one so bad, that I had the bike sliding (on a chopper), and ended up in the breakdown lane, going around the guy. The guy wouldn't pull over, so we discussed it at the next set of lights.

One mini van passed me while in the right turn only lane (for the mall), then changed lanes into me. The horn did nothing, but when I gunned it, he looked over and I was two feet from his window screaming at him. I tried to get him to pull over but he dropped back and got out of there. The bark from the Big Dog saved me.

This past week, in Rochester NH, one of our motorcycle cops was cut off by a driver (I was a few hundred feet behind him). He was not happy at all. He pulled him over, and I could hear him screaming at the driver as I went by.

So what do you guys do when you've had enough of this crap! I can't get them to pull over, so I now keep pennies in my jacket pocket to toss behind me on to there windshield and paint to get there attention. I also keep a bandanna with a padlock tied to it to swing at the car since I was hurting my left hand from back fisting the side window.

The laws dont protect us, in fact, most are making it so one of the only things that saves us, the loud pipes are being taken away by lowering the decibel limit. Riding in pairs seem to help a little. I've also learned to avoid certain roads that seem to have a lot more issues. I've been riding since I was 12, thank god! Riding in the dirt as a kid has saved my life a few times while on the street. Most people don't have that experiance.

Back to the original thread here. OK :2thumbs: I think it's an important one.

"But I do like the idea of the ROCKS"! Hadn't thought of that one! :2thumbs:

This is a very harsh and serious subject for me. And in no way am I blaming or trying to offend anyone what so ever.
I've been riding a little over 40 years (yea, I know I'm old), and in no way do I think that I've seen or know it all in this area. I don't think that anyone can. I personally believe that the problems stem from the lack of information and experience for both the operators of vehicles and the riders as well. I think that most riders are probably more aware of a fellow riders location or their where abouts in relation too themselves, whether they're on a bike or driving a vehicle, than the others. I know that I am.
Vehicle operators are told, "not taught" how to watch out for motorcycles. Then the added distractions of "heavy traffic", "jamming to the radio", "talking on the cell phone", and the infamous "texting",and etc. And sometimes even just not paying "any attention to anything" around them. (La-La Land)
I believe that any rider "CAN NOT" have "enough" or "too much" experience when it comes down to avoiding problems. I personally ride constantly with my head and eyes roaming, probably reminding some of Linda Blair in "The Exorcist". (For you Youngsters out there, :D No offence, Blairs head rotated 360 degrees) I'm constantly trying to anticipate others movements in front of me and always looking to have a minimum of 2 ways out, to avoid any possible situation that may occur at any time. I think that most experienced riders do this automatically.
Now this is the "tough" area where I don't mean any offence to anyone! In-experienced Riders putting themselves and others, even fellow riders "unknowingly" into harms way. Because of the popularity of riding comes and goes, we (the older than Dirt riders) see lots of new blood out there. "Blood" being the key word here. Just because one has ridden in the dirt previously (this does help though quit a bit),or taken and passed a ridding class, or obtained a motorcycle license (ridden in a circle without putting ones feet down) "DOES NOT" give anyone the experience needed to stay alive out there in "traffic with all the idiots"! I've seen in-experienced riders: wearing "Flip Flops"! (Now that's a New One on me as well), ride steady in the "Blind Spot" of other vehicles, Not trying to remain visible to others at all times, cutting fellow riders off, rapidly swerving in and out of traffic (What I call: "Playing Ricky Racer"!) These guys and gals think they are living LARGE and INVIENCEABLE! They're not thinking about how they would fare with the possible "Physical" interaction between themselves and a 3000 lbs. car or something even heavier.
The only way I can think of, to make things out there better and safer for everyone is getting/giving more Information and Experience to "ALL"!
"Riders help and encourage the bike manufactures to push for the "powers that be" to get more aggressive on informing and teaching better awareness"! :2thumbs:
"Think of what even an "INFOMERCIAL" to inform and teach techniques could do to save lives"!:2thumbs:
Not preaching here, but it's up to us! No one else is going to do it. And things are only going to worse over time with the rise in population.

BE SAFE!:2thumbs:

We have all had or close call and some of us have not been as lucky as others, all I can say, is say your prayers every day and be careful and at all times watch the other guy.
