Members - This is Skyhd's Karata Install. I'm posting it for him as he had an issue uploading pictures.


I purchased a Karata 4" open belt drive. Jim Karata was very dedicated, and helpful with this project. His instructions, and ease of assembly were just great. I'm no expert mechanic to say the least. I was quite surprised at how great everything fit together, and no shimming, everything lined up just perfect. He also gives a 15% discount to Big Dog biker forum members.

I am more than satifed with this Karata 4" open belt drive. My hat is off to Jim Karata, and a big THANKS.

looks great. Does it make a ratteling noise when its in neutral ot the clutch pulled in? I heard a lot of them in myrtle Beach with open primarys making a ratteling noise.

That is normal for any open dry clutch. You'll hear it on the open primary of our bikes, and bikes such as Ducatis

no rattle hear,just a nice whistle..my last bike i built i put a bdl 3inch on it and it sounded like crap,rattling but when i pulled the clutch in it stopped.
