I installed one on mine and took it off because it didn't put out enough light. The wiring should be straight up, no rocket science if I remember correctly. The only problem you will have is that the High Beans (the eyes) have two 55 watt light bulbs in the there and the EHC will not allow that. Your high beam will only flash. I changed mine to two 30 watt bulbs and it worked. But it was like having two low beams one in the mouth and one in the eyes. I just pulled it off, not enough light. It is going on my wifes sporty later on this month. I hope to get it work on her bike with the 55 Watt bulbs it came with.

Good Luck

Mine was a direct wire. Easy as could be. No problems with mine on high or low beam. Mine is a JBS Engineering.

If you have a Headwinds light, this is on their website..

ATTENTION BIG DOG OWNERS

ISSUE:
Big Dog Motorcycles with an Electronic Harness Control (EHC) require that the high & low beam headlights draw 5 & 4 amps respectively, if they do not the lights will not function properly (they will flash or pulsate) or may not work at all. If hooking up a relay, the solenoid will not draw enough amps to activate the EHC.

SOLUTION:
Install a relay and add an in-line fuse to the lights in the eyes, and install a 20W resister in-line between the relay & Hi/Lo switch.
