Ok, I finally put the sissy bar on for the old lady yesterday (07 Pitbull). Is there a special allen wrench or something to install this thing? This is the first thing I have found on this bike that I dont like. And I F'IN hate it!!! It literally took 20-30 mins to tighten the damn bolt on the right side of the bike... What a god damn pain in the ass!!!

Really... doesn't it just bolt upwards from the bottom? I just use a wratchet driven allen

You may have run into what I did on my 08. The factory had put a hard locktite into the bar and the specs called for 38-40 lbs of torque to set the bolt/ cap screw. Due to the factory loctite it took as much as 60 lbs on the torque wrench just to get the bolt in. Finally did but I thought it was going to break off. Was going to back it out and the 60 lbs would not budge it. Got it done and due to friction the sissy bar at the bolt was hot as shit to the touch.

Yea should have but at that point I thought it was going to break if I backed it out. It was stuck so I figured if I was going to break it off in her in would be on the in stroke:D

Actually, the bolt goes straight horizontally through from the front side of the strut and the right side literally has enough room to turn the allen wrench about 1/16 of a turn each time...:bang:

Diesel, many here don't realize the rigids and softails have different bars.
If you don't have access to a long angled hex wrench then you may have to go buy one. Those bolts need to be seated or you have the posibility of braking the head off. You can also chase all the threads and use your own loctite if they were pre-coated.

Good luck,
Ray
