Sissy Bar Specs

Yes the ends are threaded 3/8" unc and 17mm dia and is constructed of solid 16mm
(5/8" mild steel bar).
I bent 2 pieces the same then cut and shut at the top and welded the 17 dia bits on the end.
Just remember to allow more room between the rack and your guard.

not sure, but i dont think the stock struts are strong enough to support a sissy bar that is going to support a lot of weight. i was looking into this a while back and it looked as if you would need beefier struts. the mounting holes on my 08 pit are on top and oblong..... maybe 1/8"x 1/2". may want to look into that some more before you have the bar mocked up. looks like a nice set-up and that would suck to go through all that work.
The only major weight will be the bar itself. The center peice I have designed will be cut out of aluminum and just mounted on a plate I make for the bar. So hopefully it should hold up!

But thank you for your input I will definately take that into consideration!:2thumbs:

I don't see the weight being put on the struts an issue.

I see from many pic's on here many of you have a big sissy bar and a big pack facing backwards putting weight back past the rear wheel, as well in some instances a pillion leaning against it as well. With my rack i am trying to put the weight forward and once the pack is in place have something for my old back to rest against.
