Sissy bar for '02 Pit Bull?

I'm trying to find a sissy bar for my '02 Pit Bull. I was told by the previous owner that they do not offer one.
Does anyone here know anything about this? Will a kit for a 2004 or 2005 work?

no they don't make one. The struts on the 04 are not the same on the 02-03. If you want a sissy bar you will need to build it yourself or have someone build it for you. I had a set of one off struts built for my bike. The sissy bar is detachable like the newer dogs. Good luck.

BDM told me that the one for the 04 would fit you have to do some blind drilling to the rear fender. i have decided just to build my own for my 02 pitbull

I think that is incorrect the 04 struts are not the same, mostly the way they mount to the frame. ours are mounted by 2 bolts from under the frame 04 mount from the side. Go to bdm website and you will see what I am talking about.

Do any of you have any pics of what you had made for your '02? Is yours removable or a permanent install?

well thats just what i was told at local BDM dealer they called BDM and thats what they told him. i gave up and have decided to make my own. i will post some build pics.i have been to busey to stop and build one but im going to try tomorrow
