sissy bar bolts

I've had issues with my sissy bar bolts loosening, stripping, and one even sheared off. Can anyone tell me what kind of bolts (length, grade), and tourque I need.

Purchased it on Ebay from shovelheadkicker, nothing came with it.

The ones that came with mine did the same thing. Grade 8 is the way to go. Torque to specs.

I brought my struts to Lowes and just grabbed some grade 8 hex top bolts been meaning to get the set screws that are supposed to go in there but I think these will hold up better then any set screw. I think I only got 3/4" long, nobody has made any comments so its not obvious.

Bigdog had a safety recall on some of there sissy bars a few years ago. The diameter was to small causing the bolts to shear off and come loose.
