Simple electrical question I think????

On a aftermarket run/brake light would I wire the brake and turn signal wire together to make it work properly?

That is my question. how do you do it with just a RUN/BRAKE light?
Signal would work until you are on your brakes...and that would be most of the time.

I have not found any 3 wire lights. RUN/BRAKE/SIGNAL they are all RUN/BRAKE?

I admit I don't know this for sure but I think you could put the wire together on your aftermarket light, turn/brake and connect it up like your BDM light. Again just thinking out loud.

The signal would work but as soon as you apply the brake that would give constant power to the the light and no more "blinky"
There has to be a simple answer here. I just dont know it..

If it's an aftermarket light and it's plug and play with the BD circuit then I would asume you'd also need some sort of blinker relay if it's not already built into the light. you can't wire them together cause you'll be defeting the purpose. Now that I think about it, it can be done with some old relay logic but that would require adding two form C relays you bike. The funcion would be to have the brake light would be wired to the normally closed contact of the relay and the turn signal to the normally open. when the blinker button is pressed, power would be sent to the coil of the relay which in turn energizes the relay opening the contact for the brake signal and closing the contact for the blinker allowing the light to flash and prohibitting the brake light to go on. I could draw it up for you if you needed but surely someone's had to have tackled this in the past. Just let me know.

So you guys are saying the blinker function is built into the circuit board in the BDM light and not in the EHC?

I am not saying that, it is in the EHC, but thank goodness I dont have one. I have a wireplus from Jake...so its in the light controller...of the wp38
