Silly Question

Energy One

I just got the HID Kit for my Chopper and I took out the 2 set screw for the ring but the ring doesn't want to move. Am I missing something? It doesn't seem to be anything hard but it wont turn so do I need a tool or just some elbow grease?

Thanks,

Bob

OOps!!

Only need to remove one set screw.... the front one I think.
The ring(s) can be very tough to turn.
Clean it well, and try some rubber gloves to help get a grip.
Somebody on here (search it) made a tool to help remove the ring.
Be sure to use some anti-seize when you re-assemble.
Happy Motoring!

Bob....the ring that retains the headlight in place is threaded...so you need to get a good grip on it and turn it counter clockwise..I'm a little concerned about the HID-kit and how it's going to affect your "EHC" unit.....there pretty tempermental to electrical changes

Yeah I think that is why I go right to the battery for my power even though it connects to the 3 prong connector for the light bulb. I have heard HID's can take power away from cars too.
I paid a little bit extra for the good HID so I hope it makes a difference and doesn't give me any issues. I got the chrome ring off and now I got the ring moving, I was just wondering if it went counter clockwise as well. Does anyone know?

Thanks for all your help,

Bob

So all this work and the HID Bulb is to long and hits the glass on my headlight so I can't put it on unless I make it fit but it wont be perfect. What to do.... If I add some kind of rubber on it, it may work or should I just take it back and get the right one even though I waited 3 weeks for this one?

Well I guess it was just time to replace the battery, seems it just needed to be replaced. Just blows having all the smoke under my ass when I had my truck do that to me 3 weeks ago from my amp...
The Bike starts perfect now!!

I was talking to Jon from BDM and he said they don't recommend it because of the EHC.

No, I got it at a local shop.

So is everyone saying I shouldn't put the HID kit in? I use the power right from the battery which is new now. I always thought my bike started the way it did because of the compression but I guess it has always been the battery because now it cranks fast.

:2thumbs:hid kit from jake?
I dont think so :spank:

Nope 55, sorry. :nono:

mobsta is correct. :2thumbs:

The problem with the HID units and the EHC being compatible was the load factor of the HID units were much less than the stock bulbs recommended by BDM. Some of the EHCs were reading the low load factor or low current flow requirement as an open circuit and then the HIDs would work properly. :loony:

Jake made a modification to the amount of load to the HIDs circuitry to equal that of the stock BDM headlights.

Now they work just fine! :2thumbs:
No issues whatsoever!

Good Job Jake! :2thumbs:

dead
