well i recieved my new covers because the old ones craked from vibration,i also recieved new hardware and new remounting bracket for the horn,well guess what after a few weeks the horn bracket snapped from vibration i guess and i didnt know until i was cleaning the bike and seen the horn and broken bracket daggling against my rear fender,it totally guaged and scratched it... what a freakin mess..

I'm on my sixth set of side covers, one after warranty.

Someone was talking about making some out of metal and I was thinking maybe fiberglass would hold up better. The cover issue has been a real pain for everyone.

You get more flies with Honey than Vinegar. just my .02

There is a servce bulletin that BD put out back around the first of the year for a modification to the side covers to prevent future problems. If I remember right the dealer puts some kind of reinforcement in it to strenghten it up. Don't no how many models it affects but it does cover my 08 Ridgeback and the cover appears to be the same as what was on earlier models.

I would call them. Be nice and most likely they will cover the paint.

gas ive been there done that,they will not cover nothing,not a damn thing they keep saying its out of warranty
