Shout out to BDM

I would like to say that I am so happy with Big Dog Motorcycles standing up and taking care of my problem. If you have been to my other post about the clutch problem you will know what I mean. http://www.bigdogbiker.com/forums/drive-train/3156-major-clutch-failure.html :bang: I bought this bike used from eBay from some car dealership in Atlanta. There was no warrenty expressed or implied. When I found my clutch basket to be completely destroyed I thought I would be paying for it all. Any other company would never cover it for you or help you for that matter. They would say, Sorry, you didn't buy our $10,000 extended warrenty, etc. I called Big Dog on Monday morning and told them about the problem. Amy from BDM asked for me to send pictures. Within a half and hour or so she called me back and said, "We will handle everything. Including the recall and service bulletins that need to be done." I still can't believe it. But I can tell you that I will be telling everyone I know about the awesome customer service I received from Amy and BDM. :2thumbs: They are top notch by me. Thanks BD! :2thumbs:

This is the reason big dog is in business, and most are getting out. I am sure they are losing there ass right now, but on the horizon they will make gobs of money again. It's similar to my career in Real Estate, it's slow now but when it takes off again I am putting myself in a position to succeed. Good job Big Dog!:2thumbs:

Vegas brought up a real good point. For BD to support us like this when bike sales and revenues are probably at an all time low for them , says tons about Sheldon & the company that built our bikes and their employees that come to our rescue. Sure makes me feel good about my choice now better than ever

Grrrrrrr.

I am very happy with the way they do stand behind their bikes, for sure and, I've had good experiences with their customer service myself.

I've also had more than my fair share of problems to bring to them.

I've had no less than 5 starters with my primary problem. I've also had the clutch hub failure and, this sunday it will have been in the shop two more weeks for a tranny mainshaft breaking on me.

I just got my bike out of the shop after a long 4 1/2 months of being there and on about the 2nd tank the tranny took a big shit.

Now come to find out, a whole BUNCH of people here are having the same damned problem.... just like the clutch hub thing.

Wish they'd pay to have the whole problem fixed since, it truly is a BDM issue to be addressed. IMHO.

Looks like at least 6 instances of the same problem have happened to people just on this board that either I know of or responded to the Skully's thread.

Kind of pisses me off to be honest.

I just spent a lot of money getting my bike out of the shop and now, I've got to up for the labor of Stroker's pulling the tranny and putting the tranny back in and paying for the tranny mainshaft.

Big Dog is paying for Baker to put the part into the tranny.

Considering the history of these parts breaking, I'm not very happy with big dog engineering right now.

I just want my dog to burn more than 2 tanks of gas before it needs to go back to the vet.

I'm getting tired of being eaten to death by these shop visits. A tranny isn't something I'm going to fix on my own to be honest.

05 wasn't a stellar year for Big Dog. That was the first year of the RSD, all EPA cams, super E carb. My 05 Mastiff was at the shop a lot as well. For those of you looking for a used bike, mid to end 06 is a good build date to look for. Most of the parts are tried and true and you get the S&S rocker boxes.

I have to say how impressed I am with Big Dog. I just returned from the dealer, (American Classic Cycles in Dothan, AL) and they hooked me up right. I went in this morning to have the clutch basket replaced. Service guy walks out and says, "Yeah, I didn't want to take any chances so we replaced the plates and EVERYTHING for the basket." They did the recall work and service bulletins also. Guy walks out after I see them test ride it and said, "You'll all good to go". That's it. Didn't have to sign anything. Absolutely no money. Everything was taken care of. Look out cause I'm back on the street!!

I FUCKIN LOVE BIG DOG!! :2thumbs: :whoop:
