I think you should fight with the Ins co. I got hit a few months back, came up with $11,100 in damage to my 2004 Chopper. My bike is all aftermarket or custom, but when they came back and said they were going to total it, I fought with the adjuster, went over his head to his supervisor, and bitched to my insurance company until they paid out, AND let me keep the bike with a clean title. When they total it out, you get screwed. How much did they give you?

Well my fellow riders. I let them take it, here is a full list of what it needed.

Forks/triples/headlight, both blinkers, front fender, fender brace, and fender mounts, front rim was junk, front tire was junk, both foot controls bent, front motor mount and forward control mount broken in half, exhaust damaged, frame rashed in rear. Hit so hard the back of headlight haD vin number stamped in it.

Look on bright side though. My check was hmmmmmmmmmmmm lets just say over 30k, i got to keep my oil cooler setup and rear peg bracket and pegs.

Roman, I think this is a good call on your behalf. If you have a bad memory or you have a reservation about doing something I believe its a message from a higher power to just walk away until something better comes along......

Just my opinion but I say let her go. I don't care how nice of a ride it ends up being, that salvage title is a scarlet letter. A salvage title is like a hot chick with aids, no way am I riding it.

Glad your ok.

I vote NO on this one too. It's hard enough to sell a bike in this climate or any. Being a Salvaged Title would only drive the price down and decrease the population that would be interested.

Opt for a newer bike or a good used BDM.

Well its on its way to a local auction, insurance company picked it up toda with a POS tow truck, tow truck driver was going to lay it on its side, my buddy talked him out of it so he dragged it up on its frame, what a joke. These guys think they r getting 10k for it at the auction.

Thats a lot of money for a salvage bike. The market is low right now. Big Dogs with low miles are going for 10K(2000 to 2005 choppers) to 15K (for K9s) in my area, NH, MA, ME on Craigs list.....

I had posted a 2004 chopper (I know its not a K9) that was at our local Harley dealer that sold for under 10K and it had real low mileage.
