buying a bike

ok - here's the deal. I bought my 2008 K-9 from KC Creations about a month ago.

I wanted a used one, but could not get rid of the bike i had at the time. I ended up losing on that one, but the demand for my old bike right now is so low, the new ones are selling cheaper than what my asking price was (because of so many modifications).

ANYWAY - the only reason i bought from them is because they gave me a fair price for my bike. BUT, it has been almost one month and my old bike is STILL not paid off after we agreed KC Creations would pay it off.

In addition, I haven't taken it back to get serviced there for personal reasons that i won't go into. the salesman there was a gentlemen and then once i picked up the bike, it hasn't been so cherry.

So I only started to figure out they were assholes AFTER i purchased the bike (for a good price too). So you win some you lose some. I got the bike i wanted, but hell i'll never go back in there if possible.

anyone know what the rules are for titles and how long they are supposed to take to get? because I haven't gotten that either

CUb,

As life move along on us, do not let it pass you buy. Good time as any to get back in the fold and start enjoy the thrill and beauty of the open road. If you do get a bike, be it a BDM or something else, more than likely you will enjoy it even more.

If you have been off the seat for nearly 20 years, it will come back quick, however at the same time any bad habbits you had before will also along with picking up a few new ones. With that said, I would highly suggest that you get up with the local MSF course and take one.

Not only will it help you learn or re-learn the proper way to deal with things, but may also help with insurance rates. One of the good things with a MSF (Motorcycle Safety Foundation) course, is that they treat all riders from well seasoned to total newbees like they have never seen a motorcycle, let alone rode one. Being such they go over all the basic and give you plenty of practice using their bikes. They give a solid foundation of proper countersteering, braking concepts, handling and many other items that will help even remind some of the older dogs of some the bad habbits we develop and maybe get out mind back to the correct concept that could help when least expected.

Good luck and let us know how you roll and make out.

Cubbear - Lot's of good advice already on this string....I had a similar story to your's prior to buying my 06 K-9 last November. I spent a day at the local BDM dealer learning more about BDM and the various bikes - I liked the K-9 and Ridgeback - my back is sore enough, so I went with the K-9 and it's shocks! The bike is awesome....I've yet to be at a stop without someone asking questions or making comments about the bike!

Found mine on Craigslist for about $3,500 below NADA value...so I saved the $10 - $15K roll off loss + $3,500 for buying it used! Like Gas says - that's a lot of $$'s for mod's...and you'll make mod's...it's addictive!!

Shop hard...ask lot's of questions...get the VIN# and call BDM or local dealer and they will give you the run down on the bike i.e. have the service calls and recall items been done. I did this and it gave me quite a bit of comfort buying the used bike, on top of the savings!!!

Good luck!
