Ok, this is for all the guys that haven't done this yet.

The rear shock bolts on a K-9/Mastiff are a PITA to remove and retorq2ue to spec.

There is inadequate clearance between the frame and the bolt for a socket and breaker bar, let alone a torque wrench.

You'll need this tool. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001HWCOLS/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1

And possibly this calculation when re-installing to get proper torque.

I hope this helps someone do the job a little easier that what it was initially for me.

For the tool savy, I also tried crows feet but being open ended they were problematic for me. Torque adapter was a breeze.

I happened across this tool the other day and went ahead and ordered it. Made me think of this thread and should work in this scenario along with others. Now it's 2x the cost but the versatility would be beneficial rather than buying one wrench for one job. I could think of a handful of times it would have been nice to have in the tool box! Never seen anything quite like it.

Have to be careful with the torque values, most likely you'll need to reduce the torque wrench to compensate for the additional leverage. Instructions state however if your at 90 degrees it doesn't impact it. However they do give you the formula for parallel.

The problem with that is it's only rated to 90 ft-lbs and shock bolts are spec'ed at 100 ft-lbs
Neat tool and does provide more size options than what I bought for sure.

Good to have another option!

well i would consider 90 damn close to 100 that I doubt it wouldn't handle it. Talking 1/8th turn probably less actually.

Either way doesn't matter Amazon just had bad info. MotionPro website states 100 ft/lbs

Cool -- Actually considering how much more versatility this is, I wish I had found this instead of my solution -- I would have bought it vs what I did.

I'll keep y'all posted I don't actually need it for anything at the moment but I wandered across it and figured this is a tool that you don't know when you need it but when you do your pissed you didn't buy it already. Haha.

MotionPro makes great MC tools I have quite a few. This is really designed mostly for us guys in the MC community with the price and versatility. If you were an automechanic you'd have the set of wrenches like you posted but those are $150-200 to get a set. Also helps this allows you to go metric or SAE

I just ordered one. I didn’t need it but it looks like it will come in handy.

Thanks for sharing Eric,

Figured someone would snag one like I did. Just got it in the mail smaller than I anticipated and it feels heavy duty!

Smaller tools saves space so I’m glad it’s not another big tool I have to store. I’m going to store it with my torque wrenches so I don’t lose it.
