Shifting. . . . I know in the forums but . . . :)

Ok, I scoured the forums and read many a thread. My 07 K9 only has 9k miles on it. Was holed up in the garage while I took it apart, put new parts in, replaced ehc, walked away many a time for a bear.

Took it out for a ride yesterday and it felt grabby while in first and clutch pulled. Fuck felt... it wanted to move lightly... And shifting into neutral was the bitchiest bitch I ever had with her. Last year I replaced the cable, turned til I felt it grab, 1/4 turn... Then locked down the nut. Before I do this again, I just wanted to pick the brains of those who have walked this playground. If I do this again, and problem persists, recommend 1/2 turn or something else. I have seen others posting about 2 full turns, others about replacing rods... I would like to find the sweet spot if you will before I replace anything and if no sweet spot, the next question would be "Where do I get the rod from"? hahaha

Anywho, thanks in advance for any advice on this day of remembrance. To my brothers out there I stand by your side. To my brothers lost, I will see you on the Fiddler's Green.

Go back to square one and readjust the clutch rod to 1/8 turn instead of 1/4 turn. By square one I mean loosen the down tube adjustment and then do the clutch rod.
Run the rod against the throw out bearing a few times to get a good feel when you touch it, and then mark where the alan wrench flat is so when you lock it down you don't turn the adjustment screw.
If it still creeps with 1/8, try 1/16 of a turn

Thanks... will do it tomorrow. Appreciate it as you can tell I just needed proper mental support on left, right and how far :)

Will post results and appreciate all the feedback!

Most likely your Steel plates are wearing if you have to adjust down to 1/4 turn pretty soon you got nothing left to adjust.

Give the folks at EnergyOne a call they made the clutch pack for the big dogs and when it gets out of stack height it makes it harder and harder to adjust.

I had to get thicker Steel Plates to replace the thinner ones once I did that I was back to a 1/4 turn and by the way they did wear a little thin right around the 10k mark. Friction plates looked new the problem was the Steel wearing.
