Shifter Sticking?

After adjusting my clutch, when I put the bike in first, the shifter stays down. When I down shift, I have to snag the shift peg with thw sole of my boot to pop the shifter back up. My heim joints move very freely, so I don't think its them. I disconected the shift linkage from my forward, and the shifter/forward also moves freely. That leaves the transmission arm, which I know nothing about. Any ideas.

re-align the heim joints on the shift linkage to be true to each other and lube them really good. i know you said they felt free but they need to be straight with each other or they will bind.

BINGO! WE have winner. :D

It was the rear one. I took it loose from the transmission arm and it didn't move as freely as the front one. A little P-oil and now its as good as new. I guess I just thought I checked the heim joints.

Thank you very much. Robert

Yep, make it a part of your regular maintenance, because that is not the type of sticky joint that is cool. :D
