Well after a couple weeks of taking my motor apart for the wrong reasons and waiting on parts (rings and head gaskets) I finally got Ole Wiskey back up and running.
It took me a while but I went slow and did everything possible to ensure I get a few more miles out of her. I did a lot of polishing, chased every bolt and thread on every component I took apart, went over everything thoroughly and finally got her back together.
I want to thank Little Boo for helping me out and again MARV for helping me diagose a problem that I've recommended many times!
Anyway I did the initial start up this morning and boy did she jump. One crank and she was off. I think she was happy!
Many of you know I ride in some extreme weather as my signiture states "Rode hard and put away wet" and that is the truth. I've dealt with rain, snow, wind, wet roads, lightening, thunder, rain and hail and have done just the basics to keep my bike running and she has been good for me for 65,000 miles. Well she back up and running again and ready for a long adventure next week (I hope). Can't believe how easlily she started up.
Many others have helped me out along the way also putting me up for the night or a simple recommendation of an issue I might have. One thing this all boils down to is we have one great forum here and I thank all of you for being here. :2thumbs:
He is my initial start-up this morning. Can't believe how well it just started after I primed it. Check it out.
Thanks all,
Ray
