This is a follow up to my tank mount fix. Rode 70 miles last night and noticed a metalic vibration sound coming from my tank. Removed it today and noticed that the tank was rubbing on the upper part of the motor mount, acually started digging into the metal at the weld. By screwing the rear mount down flush to the back bone, the rear of the tank now sits too low and rubbs the rear of the tank.
Cannot remove the the mount due to the red loctite........I know I could cut the rubber heat it and remove it, thought I would check on the availability first, guess what? BDM Performence, out of stock, Amy, no luck. I will make the exsisting mount work some how, just need a little time to check it out.
If I were to do it again, I would remove the rear mount, put a "half nut" on the stud to act as a lock nut so I could adjust the height of the mount, re-install using blue loctite.
